Why does Chico Auto Finance collect my personal information?

How does Chico Auto Finance collect my personal information?
We collect your personal information, for example, when you:
- Open an account or pay your bills
- Apply for financing, or give us your contact information
We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies
Reasons we share your personal information
For everyday business purposes such as to process your transactions, maintain your account(s), respond to court orders and legal investigations, or report to credit bureaus. We share with our affiliates, information about your transactions and experiences for everyday business purposes.
Can you limit this sharing? For everyday business purposes, you may not limit this sharing. Only for marketing purposes could you limit us to share information. We do not share any of your information for any marketing purpose. We do not offer any other service to our customers beyond the scope of servicing your auto loan.
How does Chico Auto Finance protect my personal information?
To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.
Why can’t I limit all my sharing?
Federal law gives you the right to limit only:
- Sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes: Information about your credit worthiness
- Affiliates from using your information, to market to you
- Sharing for non-affiliates, to market you
State law and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.
Chico Auto Finance does not share your information for marketing purposes. Nor do we solicit you to sell you any other service that we may provide. Chico Auto Finance would share information in the course of collection of a defaulted contract.
